It was pure insanity and anyone who had anything to do with it should be tried for complicity in Murder.
This was beyond stupid, I cannot see how this can be anything but a deliberate act to have Stevens and 3 others killed.
This should have been introduced into the debate by Ryan, it would have ended a LOT sooner;)

I believe one has been tried by fate, been found guilty and executed.
From what I have read the method of execution would not pass judicial muster in this country but Libya is not so delicate as we when it comes to executions.
I may be a bit callous but I hold Stevens at least partially responsible for his own death. He new that security at the embassy was a joke and he new that his life was in danger; he could have told Hillary that she bring in the Marine or he would resign. He could have resigned and still be alive.
Fate found him guilty of stupidity, pronounce sentence and executed that sentence.
He might still be alive had he stayed at the embassy. He traveled to an unprotected consulate building in the middle of the 'lion's den' on 9-11. There is more to this story. Something stinks.

I agree, but you know what I'm talking about. The difference between a United States Embassy and a outpost consulate building are night and day.
He feared for his safety and had requested help more than once but was denied. Yet on the anniversary of 9-11 he is hundreds of miles from his FORT with virtually no security.
Somebody gave those travel orders. If he gave the order he is much more than just stupid. If he obeyed those orders from someone else then he is only monumentally stupid.
You have a point, but the strategy behind moving him to the safe house is that the location of the safe house is secret.
That strategy was compromised by his security detail that surrendered that information to his attackers. The flaw was not in the strategy but in using locals as personal security for the ambassador.
Loyalty is always questionable in guards but it is even more so when those guards are of another nationality and religion.
The Obama administration puts its naivety on stark display in this fowl up. Using locals for outer perimeter guards may be a cost saving measure but using locals totally for security guards is inviting disaster.
