Then a TV debate took place in Denver on Oct. 3, and we are still talking about Big Bird being threatened, moderator Jim Lehrer getting steamrolled, President Barack Obama under-performing and the polls flipping from “done deal” to “game on” overnight.

“I was honored and happy and all of those things when they asked me,” CNN’s chief political correspondent said in an interview last week. “But I did not think, ‘And I’m a woman.’ Because it’s not like you wake up in the morning and think, ‘I’m a man.’ It just is what you are, and you live your life.”
But, she adds, “I came to understand that it does matter in a way that I didn’t see at first. And I came to understand that through my emails, through folks who approached me in the grocery store, on the street, at the conventions, at the debates — folks who would hug me, young women, old women, their husbands, their sons, their fiancees or whoever who would say, ‘We’re so excited a woman’s going to do this.’”
Crowley says she does not “play down the optics of this” any more now that she sees the larger symbolic import of standing on that stage Tuesday night.
“It matters to minorities that you can see someone doing something you want to do and, hopefully, succeeding at it,” she explains. “It helps if you are a young woman to be able to look up on that stage and say, ‘Wow, a female’s doing this. I can do this, too.’”

Just looked up Jocelyn Crowley, PhD. Much more of a family resemblance to Monica!
Women moderate presidential debates all the time so I don’t see why she should feel so bloody important and ground breaking.
She is the first calorically over-advantaged female moderator, she she’s got that going for her, which is nice.

Why does the GOP debate commission allow leftists moderators? My guess is that commission members are incompetent idiots.

Against all these odds ,Romney has to turn around the liberal gotcha questions into revealing how Obama is destroying America destroying our freedom and destroying our future with
1. 6 trilion in added Obama debt which we can never pay back, which will destroy America and our future, 1 trillion $ deficits every year etc.
2. how Obama’s abuse of power like its passing the dream act by itself requires Impeachment of Obama.
3. how the media never critizes Obama lets Obama get away with anything and how dangerous that is
4. the coming Taxmaggedon that Obama’s Obama care will hit all us from everywhere in 2013(convenient how it is after the election.
5. number of jobs lower than when Obama took office( by millions of jobs), and workforce grew by 8 million so workforce participation lowest in 30 years, very high real unemployment etc.

the debates shouldn’t be about the moderator (or her optics, whatever the hell that is) but unfortunately, here we go again.

Candy Crowley best learn a hard lesson. Jim Lehrer is doing just fine, period!!! Jim was quite shrewd and smart letting Obama & Romney mix it up on their own. Martha Raddatz IMHO. is a bit light in brain department. In fact, she is far from the sharpest knife in the drawer!!! In retrospect, she aided that buffoon, idiot Biden in his debate loss, by joining in on his side. She did not help him, she hurt him!!!
Again...in retrospect...Biden lost the style by being an unhinged moron on his own. Then he did OK on substance...until all the lies and mis-information came out!!! Then, Ms Raddatz put the finishing touches on the “Obama/Biden” defeat cake with her annoying and uncalled for interference. What a dummy!!!
So......Candy, girl.....if you have any brain in that head cavity of yours....all you will do next week, is call on questioners and then sit still and shut up!!! Let Obama & Romney duke it out by themselves.
Better yet, Lindsay Lohan should be the Moderator.
