In 1910, the 37 year old
Sergei Rachmaninov decided it was time to write some more preludes for piano, and he turned out a new set of thirteen. This was another step in his attempt to become the next Chopin. You can see how much more complex these preludes are from his earlier set.
Rachmaninov: Prelude in C, Op. 32/1
Prelude in B-flat minor, Op. 32/2
Prelude in E, Op. 32/3
Prelude in E minor, Op. 32/4
Prelude in G, Op. 32/5
Prelude in F minor, Op. 32/6
Prelude in F, Op. 32/7
Prelude in A minor, Op. 32/8
Prelude in A, Op. 32/9
Prelude in B minor, Op. 32/10
Prelude in B, Op. 32/11
Prelude in G# minor, Op. 32/12
Prelude in D-flat, Op. 32/13
