Body Found In Colorado Is That Of Missing Girl Jessica Ridgeway, Authorities Confirm
Colorado authorities confirm that a set of human remains recently discovered are those of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway.
Police in Colorado confirmed Friday that a dismembered body they discovered earlier in the week in Arvada is that of 10-year-old schoolgirl Jessica Ridgeway, who went missing from her Westminster home a week ago.
"Our focus has changed from the search for Jessica to a mission of justice for Jessica," Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk said. "We realize there is a predator at large in our community."
Ridgeway began a short walk from her home to Witt Elementary School on the morning of Oct. 5 but never arrived. A massive search by hundreds of law enforcement officers was launched hours later because Jessica's mother works nights and slept through a call from school officials saying the fifth-grader wasn't there.
Ridgeway's case made national headlines in the days following her disappearance as hundreds of police officers, bloodhounds and scores of volunteers scoured the chidl's neighborhood looking for clues to her whereabouts. Her father, Jeremiah Bryant, who lives in Missouri, traveled to Colorado when he learned of his daughter's disappearance, police said.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out with them," Birk said, adding, "They’ve been in our hearts from the beginning."

My post points out that the mother works nights. Who gets the child up,fed, and safely out the door every morning? Did ANYONE but the mother ACTUALLY see the child in the morning? Unfortunately these are some of the first questions that come to mind these days with these stories. In other words, was the mother somehow involved? Maybe I missed it in the posted story but these questions aren’t answered.
It very well “could be”, though that’s not the way to bet, see where I’m going with that?
Grandma stays with child overnight, reported early on in the investigation. Mom gets home about 7:30, daughter gets up about 7:30 or so.

Maybe she never actually left the house alive.

“At this point in the investigation, after thoroughly looking at the parents, we’re confident they’re not involved in the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway,” Materasso said Wednesday afternoon. “The focus shifts to [an] unknown suspect.”
True. Family could be suspects but cops don’t want them to know that.. yet.
Thank you. And sorry for my skepticism but I’ll only firmly believe the officials words when the killer is caught with no links to the mother who lets her 10 year daughter walk over a mile to school, alone at least for part of the trip.
3 blocks isn’t that far. She wasn’t the only mother/father that let their kids walk as Jessica met up with other kids doing the same thing. Very common around here, still. I know after tragedies like this, we all say we would have done it differently, but these are really good neighborhoods, you feel safe.
When I was a kiddo, a country kid stranded in town because my parents had a business there, I wandered all of that town all day long, walked, biked, went into houses.
This reminds me of that book ‘The Lovely Bones’. It was a
twisted neighbor who did it in the book. Drove the family
apart and ruined their lives in the book.
Oh I promise you they are taken care of by me and their very big brother. Right now since the killer is still on the loose they stay in the house and are escorted everywhere. Its a damm shame what this evil SOB has done to the community.
First few days I was thinking that someone ran over her. Now I think the police have gotten pretty close to the perp, hence how she was found. Had to find a way to get rid of her.
OK. It just seemed to fit.

Good idea, but a bit too humane. He’d be deceased in about a minute, from that altitude. How about a helo, about 50’ off the deck, in the wilderness ? Same result, eventually, but it would make for a long, and epic video, especially if the wildlife thought he might be tasty. Just a thought ;)
Though its against the “LAW”, they need to be run out of every neighborhood, township, county, and state.
A bold “M” hot branded on their cheek by some ‘good samaritan’ would facilitate their moving on and prevent the molesters from so easily offending again.
Maybe a “P” on the forehead would keep the pedophile moving too; and be tough to hide under a beard.
Oh for the ‘good old days’.
