It was common for southern officers to use US uniforms on reconnaissance. That was how Jackson got shot by his own men. So you're saying that Stonewall Jackson and his party were shot because they had donned Union uniforms to reconnoiter the Army of the Potomac's lines? I've never heard that version of what happened.
