“I doubt the polls will move at all,...”

That’s what I thought, too. But I’m starting to revise my opinion for a couple of reasons...

1. The appearance - Biden’s bozo act will be the thing that will be remembered whenever the VP debate is brought up. This is not going to sit well with independents.

2. Some of the “factual” statements he made regarding what and when the administration knew regarding the Libya disaster is only going to intensify the scrutiny of the subject. Not going to be good for Obama.

3. Additionally there were the typical Biden gaffes and inaccuracies that will be uncovered in the postmortem. One that comes to mind is that he said he voted against the Iraqi and Afghan wars, when in fact he voted for both.

aquila48 - Yeah I can see that ... and I think this debate will have many invisible, structural benefits.

In a way it’s a lot like the Obama debate -> while policy differences came out of both, what really came out of both was an exposition of who Obama and Biden are ... simply as men - even apart from their policy.

Just 90 minutes each, to show America not so much what Obama and Biden think, but who they really are as men - and it’s probably all it will have taken to dispense with the Obama era.

A funny thing is that after all the sound and fury, and with 90 minutes each, neither Obama nor Biden has shown America one single piece of evidence supporting the primary premise of their only remaining offensive: That Mitt and Paul are liars. (I guess they still have tax cuts for the rich ... but that seems to not be getting any traction.)

So yeah - I’m agreed.
