In the early days of FR, a group of us used to get together in an IRC chat room. We did that for quite a while, then it eventually went by the wayside. Got to meet a lot of great people through that chat room, and we all met in person a few times for FR events in Washington. I still keep in touch with a few of them.
I still keep in touch with a guy I met in a compuServe conservative chat room too. We just had our third baby last year.
