Missed your post, but see #106 reply to rightwingintelligentsia.

That's my best guess so far.

One other point--- Issa has emphasized in hearing and on Greta last night that he thinks it is highly significant that Adm reduced security and yet raised the hazard pay for Libya.

This supports the view that they wanted to save appearances that Libya and CIC Obama are successes

Stevens DID know too much. But he was on board---unless he got PO'd that he wasn't being protected and threatened them in some way we are not aware of.

Rightwingintelligentsia's point about the weapons is a huge unanswered question. The gist of it is that we armed AlQaeda/MB? for the Libya revolution and were in the process of trying to get them back; i.e., put the genie back in the bottle.

I'm just thinking out loud. To me Stevens as a gay ambassador in not so gay Libya, was a huge liability. He knew waaay too much! He knew where all the bodies and the weapons were buried.

The regime needed to keep everything buried in the middle of an election which is all that matters to them. They will and are throwing anyone under the bus to get barky re-elected.

Knowing what terrorists do to Gay infidels, not to mention an "American" gay infidel, who is also and ambassador!! What prize for them.!! Just reduce his security, infiltrate the "local security" shop keeper hires with a terror type or two seeded in and he's dead, they had to know or were really stupid.
