Romney and Ryan NEEDED the debates, so they had to accept the garbage dished out by the Commission.Yeah - in any negotiation, “If you need it bad, you’ll get it bad!Or do you think that Team Obama would have gone to debates hosted by Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, etc.?

The only way to ever change that would be to pass a law making broadcasting debates - debates without moderators, excepting only for a chess timer to divvy up the microphone time equally - a condition for broadcast license renewal.
The existence of any moderator at all, be he never so neutral, is objectionable in principle because it “positions” the moderator above the future POTUS. Democrats aren’t bothered by that, of course, because the moderator is always “neutral” on the side of the Democratic candidate.
It is stretching it to call these things debates.
It’s more like some weird press conference with only one reporter.
