His “base” is still there, and no need to “rally” it.
Just saw a poll a couple of days ago — Obama is still garnering 95% of their votes (at least in the polling group that was surveyed).
What it says -more- is that perhaps both Obama and his handlers see that there isn’t much point in trying to persuade whites to vote for him anymore, and is turning back to his black base for what accolades he can get.
Hopefully, they will become his last hurrah.
