I plan to vote, but not for Romney or Obama.
“Religion should absolutely be kept out of our military as it should be kept out of our government.”
You are a moron and I doubt very much your claim that you have lost a son in Afg. Personally, as a Veteran that saw many a friend get sent to combat, I KNOW that religion was and is a very important element in the lives of our military men and women.
Go back to the DUmp. We don’t need your anti-American rhetoric here.
Sounds like shades of Cindy Sh!theel. A woman so against the American military she offered to run her “beloved” son over with her car to prevent him from serving in Iraq.
I never said I LOST a son in Afg. I just hope he stays alive for the next 8 months, his second tour there. Religion is very important for 80 to 90% of the population, but the 10 to 20% have the right to not be stigmatized for their lack of interest/belief.
Thanks for the mention. Evidently this guy’s mom is a fellow traveler of Cindy (s for brains) Sheehan... in that they’re both willing to toss over the memory of their sons for political expediency. Talk about politicizing...
That makes two of us.
So, you are willing to restrict religion for all of our service men and women because some may feel that they are stigmatized? In all of the years I served and in all of the several units I was assigned, there was never any stigmatizing that occured regarding religion.
You are still a clueless moron and you have no idea of the service a Chaplain provides. You would be much more comfortable at the DUmp.
Can you show me the record that Mrs. Doherty is a big Obama supporter? I was trying to find this info but have been unsuccessful. I did read her bump in the road agreement with Obama. I would not appreciate a president saying such about my own son(s). But I do not know the mindset of an elderly woman who watched her son go into the heart of the beast time and again under multiple administrations. She could very well be a big Obama supporter.
I am absolutely in favor of each brand of conscience/religion having its own sympathetic chaplins. There is an effort underway now to have humanist/secular chaplains also included. No effort to exclude religious chaplains.
Here is what you said, Religion should absolutely be kept out of our military as it should be kept out of our government.
You are in favor keeping religion out of the military. We can see through your lies.
When I said keep out of our military, I meant out of the official doctrine and direction by the leadership. However, somehow you missed my comment on chaplains in Comment #149 where I said all groups should have chaplains, including secularists and humanists. I have also heard that numbers of chaplains for fundamentalist religions are out of proportion to the numbers of other more traditional Christians and Catholics. If true, is that an accident or someones policy implementation?
“When I said keep out of our military, I meant out of the official doctrine and direction by the leadership.”
Which of course is a non issue. You trying to backtrack is nothing more than the typical trick of “I know I said X, but really I wanted to say Y so that you wouldn’t be able to figure out I really meant what I originally said.”
“I have also heard that numbers of chaplains for fundamentalist religions are out of proportion to the numbers of other more traditional Christians and Catholics.”
Shocker of shockers! The number of chaplains associated with any given denomination is based on the number of soldiers declaring that faith. The “proportion” will never be equal and it should never be equal. Thinking people would be able to figure that out, however you trying to claim you want a proportional number of chaplains of all claims of faith is just proof that you want religion removed completely from the military.
We can see through your lies.
