JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill took aim Wednesday at Republican challenger Todd Akin with a new series of TV ads featuring rape survivors outraged by Akin's remark about "legitimate rape" and his opposition to emergency contraception.
The three separate ads feature individual testimonials from three women who said they were raped, including one who describes herself as a "pro-life" Republican and another self-described "pro-life mother" who calls herself a "woman of faith."

Well he equated government guaranteed student loans with stage 3 cancer, he has said he doesn't like Social Security and doesn't support it, and seems to have questioned the constitutionality of Medicare. Now his reasoning may have been sound in the three cases: he appears to be mainly concerned with the long term government obligation on student loans, he's for personal savings accounts as a replacement for Social Security, and when he said that the federal government providing medical insurance was unconstitutional he likely meant Obamacare but his position can include Medicare and the VA hospital system as well. But the way he says it, like his quote on rape, generally come out wrong and can easily be misconstrued to mean something else. .
Most things Akin stands for are pretty much solid conservative values. But when he starts talking that link between his mouth and his brain disconnects and he gives McCaskill a whole new set of sound bites.
Are you listening to the snips and pieces that Claire selects to feature in her ads, or Todd Akin in full context when he was speaking about the issues?
I've listened to both and like I said it isn't hard to see what Akin meant. But the way it comes out makes it custom made for twisting. People remember the soundbites and not what is said before and after it. And Akin is a walking, talking fountain of soundbites.
I honestly don't know. It's less than 4 weeks away, Akin has no money, and McCaskill's got a ton of PAC support. She keeps throwing snippits of his own words in his face and I don't know how effective that is. This week's polls should prove interesting.
In the end, if Akin wins then I think it'll be for the same reason Romney wins - people vote against the opponent rather than for the candidate.
He'll win.
Holy crap! How low can you get!?
WOW...that's a lot of "STUPID"......(1) "terribly stupid" and (2) "incredibly stupid". I keep looking for you're 3rd "STUPID", but can't find it in your response....you know, the one where the GOP is stupid. Obviously, just a typo / error on your part.
It won’t swing the election to McCaskill, but it’ll sure bring out the FR bedwetters trying to hand it to her out of spite.
Didn't read the whole response, huh?
But the first, the initiating "STUPID" definitely falls in Akin's court. Had he not commmitted several varieties of "STUPID", there would have been no need for the GOP to do something equally "STUPID".
If Akin should lose -- and I would vote for him, were I a Missourian -- it is nobody's fault but his own.
any woman who says she was “raped” is by definition “raped”.
the real question is if they are actresses or Democratic operatives.
Finally saw one of these and I call BS.
The woman is supposedly Pro-life but is going to vote for the bitch that supports abortions? I would believe it more if she said she wouldn’t vote for either.
Hope someone finds out who she is and what party registered under.
The degenerate is exploiting rape.
