Sniper rifle? Hahahahahaha
Don’t think I’ve ever seen HP 22LR.
I feel bad for laughing at that article now. Those guys just went away for 16 years.
“Possession with the intent to endanger human life”
No. What that cheeky yob had is what we call a “poodle shooter.”
The islanders must think we’re bloodthirsty maniacs. I can ‘t make out the ‘silencer ‘ on my Kindle. What is that—an oven mitt?
Ooooooh! Scary!
The article’s hysteria would be laughable if it weren’t so chilling.
A 22LR bolt action rifle IS NOT a sniper rifle no matter what you add to it.
The Second Amendment is a joke if the government can limit the kind of weaponry you can possess in your private capacity.
Without a population armed to easily overwhelm a renegade government and the trained forces at its disposal, how can the people be relied upon to be able to overthrow such an oppressor? By taking the chances on a match between private citizens with highly restricted / crippled weapons vs. the forces at the disposal of the State? With the British in 1776, the weaponry was more-or-less matched.
What exactly is a "sniper scope" anyway? Sounds cool, where can I get one? Funny, the definitions I've found for sniper list it as a marksman who shoots from a concealed place. Makes no mention of range nor equipment, merely tactics. I suppose good old iron sights would work just fine in many cases. Sniper scope, about as meaningful as "assault rifle" - ie. fact content free.
If I ever find out where the heck Sough Croydon is, I’ll make a point of staying clear.
They were armor piercing hollow points. It was a .22 Cal AK47. Their plan was to bring down an Army helicopter. The rifle was fully automatic.
This is unreal. A total of 71 years of prison time for the same exact item which we use in the states to teach marksmanship to kids. I can only imagine what would have happened if these cops had pulled me over a couple years ago on the way to a Boy Scout campout.
12 .22 rifles + 10 boxes of 525 rounds each, along with 4 shotguns and 500 rounds for them. I would have been given the death penalty.
God Bless Texas!
Re post this article tomorrow evening or late afternoon. Higher traffic then. This needs to be seen as a reminder of what could happen here should we let our guard down along
I guess it never occurred to the brits that if they didn’t have suicidal immigration policies, and an ultra liberal governmnt that coddles every malcontent, that they wouldn’t be running around like scared little girls when a rifle best suited for plinking fat squirrels on a lazy afternoon is found.
These bobbies would have kittens if they ever saw an average FReeper gun safe.
OMG! I’ve got three in the hallway gun case - they’re the kid’s rifles.
‘Scarface’ thug bought sniper rifle for London gang warfare
‘A convicted robber who worships movie gangster Tony Montana has been jailed for 15 years for buying a sniper rifle and silencer while released on licence.
Nathaniel Tracey, 27, travelled to Reigate with three other men to buy the .22 rifle, fitted with a silencer and 62 rounds of ammunition for just for just £600.
Tracey had been jailed for seven years in 2007 for a string of meat cleaver robberies in Streatham, including one where a surgeon was savagely beaten when he did not hand his laptop.
The thug, who wrote rap lyrics about his criminal exploits, idolised Al Pacinos gangster Tony Montana and wore a Scarface jacket.
While out on licence Tracey, with Anthony Hosey, 28 Loyan Osman, 26 and Khadar Mire, 25, travelled to Redhill, Surrey to buy the Czechoslovakian sniper rifle from traveller Tyron Harding.
Gun dealer Harding, 45, was also on licence after serving 12 years for breaking into a pub in Epsom and tying up the landlord before making off with £1500.
Prosecutor Robert Ellison said the gang were under police surveillance and were arrested after they collected the gun in November last year.’

Cool. I can sell my Marlin 60 (.22LR bolt) as a tacticool sniper rifle now. I can bring in the bucks.
> OMG! A bolt-action .22 with a scope and hollow point bullets!!
That’s similar to the rifle that I had when I took firearms safety and marksmanship in high school in the 50s. Those were the days when you were required to carry your rifle to all your classes because it wasn’t considered safe to leave it unattended in your locker.
62 rounds of ammo. Good Lord, they’d have gotten life is they’d had a brick of ammo with them.
