Of Course he did. Mort is a Democrat. He even describes his economic beliefs as Keynesian. But during the 2008 campaign The Transformer was preaching that he was going to “fundamentally transform America”. That scared the hell out of me at the time, because it’s as good a definition of radicalism that I can think of.

Mort is a liberal. Liberals never ever accept responsibility for their own actions. I do not believe that Mort now sees the light. He knew everything he wrote in this piece back in 2008, and he is hunting for some way to make himself appear respectable.

Maybe so. Maybe Mort is just embarrassed about the way the progressive (liberal) agenda has worked out under Obama. When the USSR broke up in 1991, far-leftist editorial writers moaned about what a mess the idiotic Bolsheviks had made out of Marxism. Likewise Mort is just explaining away the mess we have now as just being an artifact of Obama’s incompetence.
