That's not how I look at it. Perfection is irrelevant. When it comes to voting, I don't give a rat's ass about the candidates' "qualifications". I vote for policy and policy alone. Whichever one is more likely1 to advance policies I like is the one I vote for. If Obama had won the debate going away, I'd be depressed, but I'd still be voting for Romney.

Of course, if my guy turns out to be the best qualified by a wide margin and to have freshly discovered charisma, well, that's fine and dandy! It makes him more likely to be elected, and my policies more likely to be enacted!
