Miami- Senator Marco Rubio was given a tour of a secret “stash house” that is used by organized human trafficking rings and then addressed the media to call the public’s attention to the illegal multi-billion dollar a year human trafficking industry. Rubio pulled no punches when he called out the liberal Village Voice media outlet for its “egregious” exploitation of young women who are part of the growing human trafficking epidemic that is increasingly gripping the country.
I want to take a moment to call attention to one of the most egregious things going on across our country, and that’s Village Voice Media, who runs a number of newspapers around our country, including the New Times here in Miami-Dade County and actively, actively advertising the services of some of these young girls. Actively, you can go on there and buy a human being for two hours, and you can do that on advertising going on in newspapers being printed in this very town by Village Voice Media. It is an outrage.
They make millions and millions of dollars selling human beings in this country."

The media pretends it is pro-women, but the liberal politics it embraces allows, truly, for the dehumanization of every human being--babies and children are disposable, women are "products" to be used for pleasure, hard working men are cogs in the wheel, etc.
God bless Marco for not only addressing the evil that happens in these places, but for rightly pointing the finger at the enablers--the business that embraces these advertisers who sell human beings for sex.
Now, let us pray to God above for revival, and let us move our bodies in reaction to help some of the poor souls caught up in this danger.

We should have made slavery subject to the death penalty some time ago.

All humans are merely products to serve the “all-powerful state” in the contemporary liberal worldview.
The problem with Rubio is that his Pro-Amnesty agenda and legislation actually fosters a lot of this “White Slavery”
By having a tough immigration program, with sealed borders and 100% deportation, we can prevent a lot of this. Many of these girls and women who are turned into chattel are Illegal Aliens, and their perp slave holders are also Illegals.
Rubio’s history here in Florida was that of preventing tough laws to counter Illegal Alienism (while as FL House Speaker)...and while in the US Senate Rubio seems to do nothing but push for Illegal Alien Amnesty...working with Democrats to pass DREAM Act Amnesty.
If he truly has issues with White Slavery....Rubio can start by pushing for secured borders, 100% Deportation, and NO AMNESTY

Rubio (and the GOP) could do a lot to stop rags like the Village Voice from pushing White Slavery by preventing the White Slavery to enter the US in the first place...not encourage it with Illegal Alien Amnesty

While I understand the analogy, I disagree with the use of the term “slavery” in these cases.
The distinguishing fact of slavery is that it is a legally enforced relationship between two persons.
The “slavery” at issue here is an illegal relationship that is immediately quashed when brought to the attention of the authorities. This distinction does not perhaps make a huge difference in the daily lives of those so treated, but it says a great deal about the societies involved.

However, a strong US policy on Illegal Alienism (they are not immigrants) will encourage other Western nations to get tough with their policies. We see a trend in Europe wanting to tighten their borders and deport illegals. This will limit White Slavery in other strong economic areas

Slavery is not defined as a legally enforced relationship between two persons—it is bondage; it is a condition of domination by some person, influence, habit, etc. Many of the young women being exploited in these cases are in slavery, as defined. Some are even kidnapped girls and boys. And—the “relationships” are not “immediately being quashed when brought to the attention of the authorities.”
The problems is growing because very little is being done about it by “the authorities.”

Here are the two main definitions of the term.
1. the state or condition of being a slave; a civil relationship whereby one person has absolute power over another and controls his life, liberty, and fortune
2. the subjection of a person to another person, esp in being forced into work
"Civil relationship" means a legally enforceable one, which means I'm using the primary definition. You're using the secondary definition.
Which to my mind means I'm being more accurate than you are.
I realize these the authorities often know such operations are ongoing and don't do much about it, but if a young lady walks into the police station with reporters in tow and files a complaint, I strongly suspect that in almost all US jurisdictions it will be acted on.
IOW, the absence of aggressive enforcement is largely the result of lethargy on the part of officials, not a concious decision to permit the practice to continue.
Also, unfortunately, in many cases a lack of concern since those affected are The Other, and in some cases PC attitudes of not wanting to "impose our standards on other cultures."
Village Voice Media does massive amounts of damage control for the attacks they get over their prostitution ads that dominate their free alternative weekly papers coast to coast.

Slavery in the sense of a legally defined relationship is the original meaning of the word.
Slavery in the sense of bondage or domination is a metaphor, ascribing characteristics like real slavery to some other relationship or condition.
As when the Apostle Paul talks about being “slaves to sin.” He saw real slaves every day, as did those he wrote to, and that’s exactly why he used this metaphor.

Just this month, prosecutors in New York City filed charges in a case involving a gang that allegedly locked a 15-year-old Long Island girl in an empty house, drugged her, tied her up, raped her, and advertised her on Backpage. After a week of being sold for sex, prosecutors in Queens said, the girl escaped.
Sounds like slavery and imprisonment to me.
