The trouble with Vlad the impaler’s method is Vlad. We don’t need to descend into the gutter and start torturing people.

Give them a trial and when they are found guilty hang them. Short rope, long fall.

Agreed. Note that my veiled point was “consequence”.

As it is, I don’t see that many of these criminals face properly threatening consequence.

Make them public hangings so people can see the consequence of such a crime. Use a recycled hemp rope to keep the greenie/hippies happy.
