On Sunday, the Senior Editorial Board voted to no longer use the term illegal immigrant when reporting on immigration issues. Out of preference and habit, it has already been the practice of our reporters and editors to opt for the word undocumented.
We believe that the modifier illegal unnecessarily offends our readership while the word undocumented is a more effective and objective way to describe ones immigration status.

I think this is the open-borders Left trying to send the phrase “illegal alien” down Orwell’s famous Memory Hole. Trouble is, we have the Internet now, as antidote to the Left’s Ministry of Truth. Along the same lines of 70s hippie-revolutionary-thugs like Bill Ayers robbing banks and calling it “liberating funds.” Note: bank robbers are still called bank robbers.

Excellent article. I’ve showed it to several of my friends, and they’ve said it is a perfect characterization of liberalspeak at Berkeley. The delusion in the Senior Editorial Board of the Daily Californian is breathtaking.
