Levin: Romneys Best Debate . . . Kudlow: Huge Victory for Mitt . . . Nordlinger: Round One . . . Hanson: Bad Night for O . . . Ponnuru: Hope for a Change . . . Goldberg: There Went the Boom . . . Foster: Down Goes Frazier! . . .
One thing is certain and that is that Romney has an aggressive stand-in for Obama in debate practice. He also has an aggressive stand-in for the debate moderator since he is up against both of them.
Its also very likely he will have stand-ins for the lame liberal town hall attendees he will face next time.
If there is another debate, and in my mind that is not certain, then the long knives will be out for Mitt... I think he is ready after what I saw last night.
He will attack the moderator aggressively next time IMO... because he will have to...this is something he has learned from Newt :-)
Im glad the first and most important debate went so very well, the rest will mostly just have political junkies from both sides watching anyway.
After this humiliation Obama is going to do something very wicked very soon IMO. Lets hope the Romney super pacs are loaded for bear and ready. Lets also hope WW3 is not started as the ultimate diversion.
Now that Romney has thrown off the advice of his stupid Top Campaign Advisors, and then gave a great debate performance, this question comes to the fore:
WILL MITT NOW FIRE HIS TOP CAMPAIGN ADVISORS ?
I wondering if they actually brought Newt in and just told everyone it was Portman.
Amen to THAT! Fire those weasels advising you to keep silent. ugh.

I have read that it is Ted Olson. Olson is a very brilliant lawyer. So I think you have picked up on that fact!!
I wonder how many of these Republican advisers are leftist plants? McCain had them.
Right you are, WWWF ! Loyalty to a staff that holds one back is self-inflected punishment to the absurd.
To Romney: If you are in it to win it, then it is now time to bring out the Romney Broom amongst your own deadbeat staff !
Loved the Romney family hugs at the conclusion of the debate. Especially where he picked up the granddaughter for a hug. And a real, genuine hug for Ann.
Rob Portman has been his Obama standin.
Romney was channeling Levin and Laura Ingraham.
They somehow got their message through to him.
But it didn’t come from the GOP-E advisors who suggested temperance and soft ball civility. Now these same out ot touch campaign managers will take credit for R’s success last night and claim victory.
They’ll do same if Mittens wins the election..and try to throw the Tea Party conservatives under the bus.
We must not allow the drubbing of ‘10 to reoccur.

Mitt is a malleable sort. This is a reason for concern as well as a reason for hope. By that I mean he has an adaptable capacity to be anything he wants to be. Last night the milquetoast Mitt was gone and his handlers had him put on his gloves and he started throwing punches. He had been molded into a fighter with determination and conviction for this debate. What was also apparent was his trademark of thoroughly doing his homework. After the first fifteen minutes, you could see Obama wanted it over so he could go back to his couch and watch TV. He was bored and indifferent and it showed. If Obama actually vacates the office in January, our biggest challenge will be to mold Mitt into a solid, steadfast conservative. I believe it can be done through Ryan who will surely be an engaged and influential V.P. I can see a glimmer of hope shining through the clouds for once.
“WILL MITT NOW FIRE HIS TOP CAMPAIGN ADVISORS ?”
Why would he do that? They lulled Zero into thinking he was `McCain II’ and sandbagged just about everyone here as well. And now they’ve got Zero’s nappy scalp hanging from their lodge pole.
You know what the best thing is? Late in the debate when Mitt said, “When I’m elected ...” to the “president-elect Obama” (remember that?) and Obama’s face fell, I suspect Obama left the stage early thinking: “Man, this guys got more brass than I do ... “.
Furthermore, for those of you thinking the Kenyan will show up better prepared (more aggressive or whatever) next time, I suspect The Won is now thinking, “This guy’s the Crimson Tide and I’m St. Mary’s College for Deaf, Blind and Crippled Girls. And I’ve gotta do this again? Dayum!”
The next debate and the one after that are both gonna be very similar to this one—`Alabama ass whippings’. There’s nothing Zero can do about it and Romney doesn’t need to change a thing.
Sarah Palin warned of the same
He rope a doped him.
I hope Mitt doesn’t get comfortable or lazy. Because I think any properly educated and articulate person could defeat “O” in a debate... it would be like beating your 80 year old grandother at volley ball!
As a postscript, I know what you’re saying though. But now `FrankenMitt’ has been loosed so I expect we’re going to be seeing, as the Monty Python boys put it, “Something completely different.”
He rope a doped him.
Mitt & Paul have been strongly indicating that they will switch to defining a
Clear choice.
We just saw round 1. Round 2 should be equally revealing when “ one od us, angry man Joe” takes on common sense, fact based Paul
