If last night’s debate was a prizefight, it would have been stopped at 9:25 p.m.
I had a feeling Obama might have a problem when I heard he was using John Kerry as his Mitt Romney stand-in. If that was the best Liveshot could do getting Barack ready for Mitt, he should be fired this morning even before Bobby Valentine gets his walking papers.
Did you notice how Obama kept looking away from Romney? It took a while to figure out who he was looking for, but then I realized — it was TOTUS, his missing TelePrompTer of the United States.
No one should ever use the words “cerebral” and “Barack” in the same sentence ever again. He bragged about cutting taxes $3,600 for middle-class families — “maybe they can buy a new car.”
And they said George H.W. Bush was out of touch!

Even then he was able to get in his talking points for the owners of the Democratic Party (the teachers’ unions) - he is talking about hiring so many more “math & science” teachers while so many places are laying off teachers - and he didn’t say what we could do with the public school “teachers” currently being paid to pretend teaching math & science.
Romney did a good job, and for the first time since his election Obama was held accountable for his record (without his Speak & Spell to help him).

None of them want to e publicly lampooned on the ‘net (or late-night TV) for their Obama kneepads anymore, and I’m sure many of them see the writing on the wall for Obama and no reason to throw away the tiny bit of self-respect they have left for him.
Romney brutalized Obama.

Obama’s performance last night was a scathing indictment of affirmative action, and the Dem media’s response to/spinning of it was a perfect case of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
But they made him practice for the debate “all day”.

He probably had an earpiece; that still only works as long as you can focus on both your coach AND the person in front of you, and even the coach would have a hard time refuting your opponent “live”.
People got a great view of the real Obama (without his Speak & Spell); I doubt he’s still viewed as a great orator. I don’t know what the Obama camp expected; he has nothing but a disastrous record to run on, and is an easy target on so many fronts. He did get in his lip service to his owners, though: thousands and thousands of new teachers needed...
The last study I read reported that, for every $1.00 of gasoline, “big oil” makes app. .08 cents profit. A large percentage goes to paying for R&D, production, delivery, marketing, etc. (paid by the consumer, of course). Meanwhile, .30-.40 cents of every dollar spent on gasoline goes to state and federal taxes. This breakdown, of course, depends upon the state and the region.
And these leftists love to complain about the ‘gazillions’ of dollars of profit that ‘big oil’ is making, how they ‘gouge’ the people at the pumps.
When I went to public school BEFORE the teachers were unionized, a standard class was 40 students and it was a red letter day if we got a textbook that only listed 3 previous owners.
And this school where the kids supposedly sat on the floor is in whose state?
Oh, that would be HARRY REID!
And the floor is *dirt*...and the poor kids have no butts!
They walk uphill in the snow, both ways to get there...with no shoes cuz they’ve got no feet.
Romney really “brought it” on many occasions. My favorite was when he reminded Mr. Liberal Kenyan do-gooder that instead of spending money on teachers, he chose to funnel it to his favorite “green” money laundrying system, Solyndra.
Oh, my, that was a delectable morsel indeed.

Spot on.
But don’t forget the effect of inflation. We’ve had QE1, QE2, and QE3, each of which degrades the value of the dollar. But all the while the value of petroleum stays pretty much the same. Net result - it takes more dollars to buy the same amount of oil.
OPEC ain’t stupid - they’re not going to sell a barrel of oil for the same amount of dollars that they did 4 years ago, when those dollars are worth much less than they were 4 years ago.
