An elderly California couple has been subjected to violent threats, vandalism and a fake Molotov cocktail because they erected a pro-Mitt Romney sign on their front yard.

I hear a lot of people talking about the lack of Romney signs out there. Duh? In a freeloading “America”, GOP signs and bumpers stickers aren’t a good idea.
Now I know what to expect when we put up our yard sign. :^/
Put out the ‘empty chair’. Use something old, the message is already there.
Got security cameras covering the front of my house, hope one of my lib neighbors tampers with or removes my R&R sign, (was done to my W sign before I had cameras). can’t wait to call the POPO and bust their A$$.
Well, they shouldn’t of incited the violence by putting up the sign; just like anti-gay beliefs incited violence by queers, and pro-life support incites violence from the pro-death crowd, and being an American incites violence from 7th century cromags.
When will people learn, and stop inciting all this hatred and violence?
Agreed. I don’t want my home or car vandalized, so I have no yard sign nor bumper sticker.
Affix a small note that they can only see from up close: “Smile, You’re on Closed-Circuit Camera!”
As much as I’d like to, I would not dare put a sign on my yard or bumper sticker on my car. I live in a Dem hell-hole. I am afraid of being run off I-95, and worse.
You know what, funny you should mention that. I was thinking about doing that very thing, I think I will now, thanks.
Yeah, 1st amendment can be so..icky.
Oh, and who do they think they are, opining as to who to vote for in a national presidential election. It is not like they have a say so anyway.
personally, a sign close to the road and a night ambush has distinct possibilities and interest.
I actually saw a Romney/Ryan sticker on an SUV heading south on Hillhurst (in LA!) this morning. He must have access to it all day along with a shotgun.
Why are they placing a Romney sign on their lawn? Who gave them permission to use their lawn? I would be pissed off royaly if someone put an Obama sign on my lawn. We must look at this both ways. What would you do if someone put an Obama sign on your lawn? Keep it there or try and destroy it???? They may have gone too far but still it is their property.
We have no yard signs or bumper stickers. I do enjoy my neighbor’s views on display though. I keep a list in my head of who is and is not allowed in the bunker when it hits the fan.... I plan to loot my libby neighbor’s pantry items first.. :^)
I work in Cleveland and have a Romney sticker on my car and a sign in my yard.
All I’ve received from Passersby is thumbs up.
I have signs for every Republican candidate along the road in front of my house and double signs in front of my company in a nearby town. Also bumperstickers on both cars (althouugh I did take the stickers off for a trip to CA in August).
The lone Obama signs on my road I notice have been reinforced with wood. I LOL every time I drive by. She displayed recall Walker signs too, and we all know what happened there.
One of the reasons I have so many signs is that I’m known in the neighborhood for displaying signs. We’ve recently been redistricted, and we have a whole new set of Representatives. So, I feel obligated to display the names of those candidates; otherwise, some of my neighbors won’t recognize those names when they encounter them on the ballot on election day.
obama doesn’t have much support in my county, even less in my city and very little at all in my precient. My yard signs are safe appreciated. In Memphis I had to repair and put my Goldwater signs back every day except when I had to replace them.
I’m in California so I worry about rocks through my windows and the safey of my family and our vehicles. My neighor is a big union guy so I am appreciative that I have less research to do as his yard is a great indicator of who not to inka vote for.. oh, and his pantry is first on the loot list.
During a 30 mile drive to a family picnic recently I counted four large Romney/Ryan signs and one small obama placard - we are in the southern Puget Sound/Hood Canal area of Western Washington - the district that re-elected congressman Norm Dicks (D,crook) for 164 consecutive terms.
I have a collection of magnetic bumperstickers that I use when I’m driving into Milwaukee County. I remove them when I park the car.
