Senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs dismissed claims from conservative media outlets that the president believed the botched federal response to Hurricane Katrina was influenced by race.
In an interview with "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday, Gibbs was asked about a video of then-Illinois Sen. Obama delivering a speech in 2007 in which he discussed the anger many African-Americans affected by the 2005 storms devastation felt at Washingtons mishandled relief efforts.
The president says the incompetence surrounding the federal governments response to Katrina in 2005 was colorblind, said Gibbs. If the Republicans want to defend the Bush administrations response to Katrina, Im sure the president would give them ample time during the debate to do that.

“Where yo dollar?”
Don’t sound so color blind to me.
Butcept that wasn’t what he said...
Bingo! They're good at this game. They. Are. Good.
Oh my! At least they are consistent....always have a excuse don’t believe what you saw or heard!
But you can’t believe what you saw and heard. You have to believe what they TELL you what you saw and heard.
These are both untouchable Democrat constituencies.
So, what to do , what to do ~ oh, talk about what ANGRY BLACKS SAY ~ which is a lot different than talking about the Katrina situation.
A clue for Romney ~ talk about what ANGRY BLACKS SAY about nearly 4 years of 53% unemployment.
That'd give him a neat segway out of the 47% confoundment.
Gee, with one party in control of the media it is amazing what one can do to real history, blocking knowledge and with fake talking points.
Just wow. It should be pointed out that Big Government is incompetent when it comes to dealing with local issues and that local governments are best for dealing with local issues. Katrina was not a National Disaster. It was regional. And New Orleans, if run by competent individuals, would have been better off if local government were not so dependent on the big teat. You did not see other areas suffer in the same way.
Claims by conservative media?? Obama blames racism for the fed’s response to Katrina, on video no less, but the claim comes from “conservative media”?
If asked tonight about the video, I think Romney should say something along these lines: “I don’t want to get into the details of the video, because, as we’ve seen in recent weeks, it’s not very wise to point to a specific You Tube video and make assumptions about serious issues based strictly from a video. I do think it’s interesting however, to note that Barack Obama and Joe Biden were the only two U.S. Senators to vote against aid for the victims of Katrina.”
SHAME ON YOU YOU FAT LIAR...get your life together or you will burn in hell with the other communist..
Once we send a slow pitch over the plate and they hit it out of the park, nobody cares what the snappy outfielders do.
But I'm sure Gibbs is thinking about the narrative the corrupt MSM hung around Bush. (Thank you, Karl Rove, for never daring a response to the corrupt MSM.)
You have to be kidding me. That was a weak pop-up to right field.
Sorry, “park”.
Obama blames racism for the feds response to Katrina,
Not just obama. Almost all libs thought the response was racist, and the media sure did.
