Give him a break, for cripe's sake! He's trying.
This kind of buffoon is why I hated college math (and make a living as an engineer, preforming in a very math-intensive environment.) I hardly ever took math texts home in high school and scored 795 on the Math Level II achievement test. I still *hated* college math, (well, and high school math for that matter) because it's taught by half-assed posseurs like this.
