At first, the new campaign video from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees seems to be a dialed-back take on Priorities USAs infamous Mitt Romney gave my wife cancer spot. Really, though, aside from the victim still being alive, its essentially the same line of attack. Mitt Romneys garbage man, Richard Hayes, knows that his bodys going to break down from hauling Romneys trash each week, and Romney just doesnt care.

Same here. Trash collection has almost become a white-collar job.
Reckon “fat boy” picks up only Mitts garbage? Or is he forced to pick up Mitt’s for no pay? Bettin he’s on a truck that charges $50 for 4 pickups a month and makes $15 an hour and NO drug testing.
Getting out holder’s people to actually vote must be tough when all da gets is a damn free phone.
Back when I did it it was physical. Trailer parks were the worst because you ran every step of the way.
I hate it when people just make stuff up. This guy says he lifts 15 tons a day...at 40 lb a can, that’s 750 cans a day...or 93 an hour...or one every 38 seconds.
Problem no 2...when he talks about the health benefits of picking up trash, the ad plays a quick blurb of Romney saying we need to cut down on government....people outside the major metropolitan areas cannot even concieve of privately owned trash companies...the government just has to do everything.
Problem no. 3....isn’t it ILLEGAL to secretly tape Romney, in a private home in Florida? Didn’t he establish an expectation of privacy when he closed the event to the media? I can understand the media replaying the tape as ‘news’...but the Obama campaign is using the ill-gotten fruit of a crime, in their ad!
That's probably why Santorum never tired it. He didn't want to be insulting. Right?
Just like the ‘secret’ 47% video, Romney should just slap an “I approve this message” on there and run it as his own ad.
I thought this was a joke. Now I know it is not and am wondering how to deal with the shame of not hugging my trash man every day.

The first time I read about this commercial I about fell out laughing! I had NO idea that hugging your garbageman was proper etiquette.
It will be a cold day in Hades before I hug mine! Freakin’ recycle Nazis! Our garbage collectors play some stupid control games. I quit recycling.
After this video I like garbage collectors even less. Ef ‘em!
Ours is fitted with the arm as well but they still have two that ride on the outside to pick through and approve your garbage for a lift.
I don’t think it is insulting at all. I have cleaned houses, worked as a flight attendant and worked in child care. Most people have no idea what each job entails. If any of the people I have worked for had wanted to do my job and see what is actually involved- from getting filthy, getting screamed at, getting physically attacked- I would be shocked and consider it admirable. It wasn’t something he HAD to do. He wanted to do it.
What jobs has BO ever done? Wanted to do? They brought their own chef to DC so they haven’t even cooked for themselves.
It has taken me a bit, but I think Mitt Romney is the real deal. I like the guy.
This can’t be real, can it?
"You must socialize to economonize."
"Keep Obama in president, you know."
Call the waste management company and have this turd fired.
LLS
Unfortunately, Romney has played right into the theme of this video with his comments about how his wife owns two Cadilllacs and how earning $374,000 in speaking fees last year was “not very much”.
We would not have this problem with Rick Santorum. But then again, The GOP Establishment knows best!
What I find insulting is that these guys go out and pretend to do a job for a day and I’m supposed to find it believable.
I think we may be a little tough on our garbage collectors, the obama economy is so bad they are dropping off more garbage to starving customers than they are collecting.
