While the situation has escalated at an alarming pace since January 2009, it would not be nearly as corrosive had it not been for decades of drift in that direction under democrat and republican “administrations” alike. You hit the nail on the head. It is because of that sameness that I consider the Republican-party to be very evil. (When was the last time they as-a-party worked toward stated party-planks in any appreciable way?)
