I would imagine the Lockhheed employees know what's going on.

The thing is, if Obama is elected, he is going to do these cuts, he said so.

So they are breaking the law.

If Obama wins they could still get laid off, only they will get no notice and can’t sue the company.

Seems illegal to me. Maybe the obvious stench of graft will taint the intended manipulation.

Isn’t it amazing how large corporations will so easily go along with blatant violations of public trust? To Hell with the #ing cowards.

While this is an obvious attempt to rig the election, I rather suspect Lockheed, etc. employees are very savvy folks and most of them probably know perfectly well they are on the layoff list... and that the pink slips WILL be forthcoming on November 7th.
I mean, defense contractor employees are not stupid people... if they vote to re-elect a man who openly avows his commitment to weaken America’s defenses.... well, they just aren’t that stupid.

If the layoffs are due to Sequestration in the budget
won't they still get layed off if they do not fix the budget and is Obama or the Senate working on the budget
I thought they are not doing anything. I am confused.

Lawsuits arising from any unannounced layoffs will mostly be filed by union lawyers against contractors on behalf of members. The contractors’ costs will be paid by the Labor Department. Since the Labor Department is run by Obama appointees who were union executives this turns into a really incestuous circle. And another scam on taxpayers. When they talk about “severance costs” that could be some serious money.

As far as I know the notices are legally mandated if they are to fire people within a certain period. Thatdoes not constitute electioneering.

There are a lot of people who are under the misguided impression that Defense / Aerospace industry is automatically going to be conservative. Nothing of the sort could be more untrue.

These folks go with where they think they'll be able to get the most contracting money. Regardless of party.

Hey Lockheed employees. You know hussein will back defense cuts, massive defense cuts, if he is elected. He just told your management to break the law and keep you in the dark. He is going to pay their legal costs to fight you in court. Does that sound like someone you want to back, like someone you want in control of your destiny? I think husseins announcement just backfired and lost him the vote of every single defense worker and their families.

When I worked for that company, the division I worked in was merged with a different one and Ms. Linda Gooden became our executive VP. I was laid off 6 months after she took over. When she took over, she implemented a policy where if you took vacation, you were expected to make up that same amount of time in unpaid overtime. She also cracked down on dress code as well. She likes to pay surprise visits to catch people off guard. She visited Colorado one time and she had people sent home for wearing jeans ! Word also got out that each employee is expected to work 5 to 10 hours of casual overtime each week. She also cracked down on flex time as well. Use to be the parking lots were empty on Friday afternoon but they are now full even to 5 pm Friday. Before most people would work their hours earlier in the week. I even see the parking lots sometimes filled on Saturdays too.

One thing about Ms. Gooden, she is a big Obama supporter.

I don't think Obama’s promises to Lockheed executives will give the employees anything to cheer about.

Obama has promised to cover any costs associated with the failure to give employees 60 days notice of termination. He DID NOT promise to stop the layoffs.

This allows Lockheed to issue IMMEDIATE terminations to thousands of employees after the election.

If I was employed by Lockheed, Obama’s promise would scare me to death, & make me very angry.
