IIRC, not long ago France was paying women to stay at home and have children. Their Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is well below replacement with ethnic French people. Now, in the face of domestic muslim muslim terrorism and population growth they choose to underwrite 100% of abortions - totally unacceptable for the muslim population. The upshot: the French are subsidizing national suicide.
And, like the stupid liberals in this country, are fighting tooth and nail for the right to do it.
