It’s more bureaucratic foolishness. I had PB&J, but Michelle wants to meddle, and the bean counters want to look good.

My grade school back in the day would have never denied anyone a lunch. Of course we as a free society of people back then would have made sure it was paid in full.

Children are crying at lunch. Why, because they're too lazy to fix themselves a sandwich to take to school?

Maybe there’s a schoolyard bully who took their lunch money.
To: houeto
You do understand that children in most districts cannot bring food to school anymore.

According to Portland schools, PB&J’s are racist symbols of the white privilege

Pay you damn bills! That is what people do. Get your parents to stop being deadbeats. So sick of this freebie mentality.

Frankly, were confused. We thought the feds provide low-cost school lunches because many children come from impoverished homes where the food budget is tight, or from homes where meals are not prepared on a regular basis. The government wants to make sure every kid receives proper nutrition and the dignity that comes with eating a full lunch with classmates. I'm glad I'm not the only one making this connection.

I sorta know why he is staying out of the food controversy. There is no way he could be looked at as an advocate.
