No offense to New Yorkers (state)... but I have hated NYC for a LONG time... specifically because of this (diversity)....:/

Relating my own experience, a former boss (boss's son, actually, but it was a family business) was absolutely enamored by New York City. He even scheduled a company "team building" trip there for about 4 days.

The son was always a little "metrosexual" on the fashion side, and I never thought any thing of is. Later, he came out fully when he brought his "boyfriend" into the office. That was near the of the end of my career there.

LOVING NY is now a pretty definitive litmus test for queerness, in my book.
