Lori Monroe, a 40-year-old Democrat who lives in central Ohio, was startled a few weeks ago to open a letter that said a stranger was challenging her right to vote in the presidential election.
Monroe, who was recovering from cancer surgery, called the local election board to protest. A local tea party leader was trying to strike Monroe from the voter rolls for a reason that made no sense: Her apartment building in Lancaster was listed as a commercial property.
"I'm like, really? Seriously?" Monroe said. "I've lived here seven years, and now I'm getting challenged?"
Monroe's is one of at least 2,100 names that tea party groups have sought to remove from Ohio's voter rosters.

Sounds like the TP is doing the right thing here. Create the challenge and let the real voters prove otherwise. If they succeed, cool. If not, one less fake voter.
"Monroe, who was recovering from cancer surgery..."
She's a "victim" X 2 now that the the evil TEA Party is challenging her vote. This is just more liberal bull****. They are scared to death about November.
Been seeing a few headlines like this, the old media starting the meme about the Tea Party and voter intimidation.
Must be a landslide coming;)
Yeah I caught that, and why. They sure didn’t cut Tony Snow any slack, it only works for ‘rats.
And then they have their narrative.
yeah I just the old hag “lives” in an office building, uh hun. biddy is voting in two places at least, big deal if she’s been doing it for 7 years, she needs to be off the rolls
bet
They only mention the cancer because it helps to paint those who they are calling the victimizers as being so much more monstrous. It's an emotional ploy to make the anti-fraud crusaders look like the bad guys.
This is just more liberal bull****. They are scared to death about November.
They need to be scared. I feel it is our duty to destroy them. They need to be in fear of the people whom they have sought to cheat out of fair elections. The Los Angeles times is probably going to go under eventually. We need to help shove it over a cliff. Those are the same bastards who are refusing to release that incriminating Video of Barry at that Hate Israel party.
This is evidence #2 that Obama and the media know that they are losing. Here is the narrative they will use, Romney wins, they will blame the racist white people who didn’t vote for Obama because he’s black..and also blame the Voter ID law and the media will call for mass riots and mass protests, the election will go before the Supreme Court where we will be screwed..that is what will happen here..if Obama and the media knew the election were in the bag they wouldn’t be mentioning Voter ID and tea party together
LOL,it’s not just surgery, it’s CANCER surgery!
She’s a victim times three. She’s a Democrat WOMAN.
If she is living in commercial property, she is violating zoning. We have a whole segment of such violators in Boston at Fort Point Channel. Bunch of commies. It’a a way of living in the city cheap.
Anytime we have a family member pass away, we check to make sure their names have been removed from the voter rolls and we continue to check every so often to make sure no one is voting for them.
Be aware if you have family members in nursing homes....
"In some cases, the Ohio tea party researchers have correctly identified voters who have died or moved, speeding up the official updating of registration files. They also found voters registered at a Cincinnati trailer park that no longer exists."
Well, well, well. So the Tea Party group DID find "voters" who had died or moved ... or didn't exist.
And wouldn't you would think that any journalist would find some NUMBERS essential to the story?
But no: The LATimes reporter fails to inform us how many non-existent voters were properly purged from the voter rolls as a result of the Tea Party's efforts -- compared to how many voters were found to be legitimate, after being challenged.
And oh, by the way, what is wrong with a CHALLENGE? Nobody's "right to vote" is taken away by a mere challenge. If you answer the letter that is sent to you by your County's Board of Elections, your name will remain on the rolls!
I am reminded of an incident that happened in 2004 (might have been 2000) where a local Republican party sent a mailer to everyone on the Voter registration list at their address of record, then challenged all that came back as undeliverable. I also think a few registrars started doing the same thing, possibly the same year as they thought it was a bright idea. Democrats were screaming, but I find it quite likely that anyone whose address of record cannot be found by the post office is illegally voting.
