The whole thing is utterly ridiculous. They bring in these regulations to "improve" the quality of the product, which drives the producers out of business, but the demand for the product still exists, so we end up having to import it from other coutnries which DON'T have to abide by all the regulations the well-intentioned by deranged have brought in!

The net result is that we end up with a devestated home grown industry, greater consumption of fuel because stuff is no longer locally sourced, a poorer balance of payments, and consumers have a lower quality product!

Same with oil, gas and mining. If the environmentalists REALLY cared about the environment they would push for drilling and mining here - rather than Nigeria, Indonesia or China where they don’t care about the environment.
