Poor programming. Instead of writing real, bomb proof code, today’s programmers play footsie with java toys and other stacked up nightmares just waiting to fail.
Java was introduced when the only real programming language for the web was C++ so at that time (1995) it was the only web programming language that was easy to use. It never was that good for the web and the “error proofing” the code constructs and framework to keep developers from making errors only made it easier for incompetent programmers to produce more crap code; it is also still a heavy resource hog. Incompetent programmers write crap code, regardless of the language and Java has not changed that.
True. The Object Oriented guys have gotten very lazy. The development cycle is a fraction of the length it should be and Beta testing is almost nonexistent. In fact, general release has become Beta testing since feedback is instantaneous in either case.
