Regan was our first divorced President and there have been a lot of acceptance since then. Clinton has not suffered despite his behavior. Not that it makes any difference now.
Reagan was divorced, but his wife left *him*. He didn’t *abandon* Jane, and rightly or wrongly, Newt is seen as an SOB by a substantial number of women. Clinton is a Democrat. No Republican could have survived for a week doing what that predator did. Best, Bob
