That is because Democrats didn’t show up at the polls. Let’s hope they don’t in 2012 as well.

Check again. In Oct 2010 all the polls had Republicans up 5 to 10 points and many of them had the Republican congress up by double digits. In fact, if you look at the history of the 2010 election polls, pollsters had Republicans winning the house as early as Dec 2009. It was an off year election so the presidential approval numbers were irrelevant.

My point is that I’m getting tired of the head in the sand attitudes and hope that these crappy numbers for Romney get people MOTIVATED, not in denial.
We are looking at serious foreign policy issues, an economy in the tank and a supreme court that could very well be reshaped in the next 4 years. We don’t have the luxury of living in la-la land. We need to look at these numbers for what they are and use them to get people into action!
Volunteer to make calls, canvas neighborhoods, volunteer to distribute signs, talk to family, friends, neighbors and for the love of God if you live in a swing state, do all of the above EVERY free moment you have!
