Student launches “Obama-loses” website

Whoever said the next generation was a group of lazy and politically apathetic dependents has obviously never met Chris Lewis. Lewis, a student at the University of Melbourne, has recently created the website www.obama-loses.com to poke fun at the anti-Romney website www.romneymakes.com.

In explaining his motivation for creating the site, Lewis said, “As a student, it is my generation that will suffer the effect of a world crippled by Obama’s debt. I did this, one evening in my spare time, I wasn’t paid, I just wanted to get the message out.”

Obama-loses.com invites you to type in “something you do” and record the amount of time that the specified activity takes to complete. In return, the site generates the phrase, “In the time it takes me to _____, Barack Obama increases America’s debt by $_____,” filling in the blanks with the activity and the corresponding growth of America’s debt during the activity’s duration, respectively.

Lewis explains, “My website is based off a Democrat website that highlighted Romney’s earning capacity per second. The Democrats have sought to create suspicion or even outright hostility towards those who are commercially successful.” He adds, “This is outrageous! Wealth-creators should be celebrated, not vilified.”

He identifies his target audience as “people who care about America’s future” and especially those who can vote on November 6. He concludes, “I can’t vote, but I know I speak for millions around the world who depend on the U.S. for financial leadership in saying that America has to learn to live within its means.”

An example of something you can enter into Lewis’ site is the time it takes you to brush your teeth. In approximately one minute, Obama increases the debt by $2,380,969.80. That’s an expensive teeth cleaning. How about a long, relaxing jog? Obama increases our debt by $142,858,188.00 while you’re out for your run. That doesn’t sound very relaxing.

Additionally, another feature of the website invites you to calculate “how long [it would] take you to pay back what Obama has wasted” by entering in your hourly wage. Yet, the site warns, “This is probably going to be a major bummer.”

In a more serious tone, the bottom of the page reads, “Should you hate [Obama] because he is collecting taxes? No. Does it matter how he has increased the size of government at the expense of ordinary Americans? Yes. Should you question his priorities, loyalties, and motivations? Absolutely.”

As the site makes clear, Americans should spend less time worrying about what Romney makes and more time getting angry about the fact that President Obama increases the U.S. debt by approximately $39,682.83 every second.

Actually, nothing against Mr. Lewis, but James O'Keefe comes to mind as a counter-argument first.

Good idea but visuals are bad.

Get rid of the black background.
