The Democrats have been working for nearly 100 years to bring about a slow, grinding descent into popular socialism and totalitarianism of the Federal government.

My only quibble with what you've said is that it's not "Democrats" - it's "Progressives" - the fun-loving guys who brought us Income Tax and Prohibition.

And there's plenty of 'em in both major parties. Think John McCain, Lindsey Graham and George Bush.

I was using the more contemporary Democrats as examples, but you are correct that progressives, in historical generality, are the reason for all of this. Thank you for the correction.
