Its no secret that American carriers lag far behind their Asian counterparts when it comes to service and amenities. None of the big three U.S. airlines Delta Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines cracked the top 50 in airline consultancy Skytraxs annual poll of the worlds best airlines, which was released this summer.

I don't think the story said whether they were male or female. The passengers finally got to their destination three hours late.
I miss Midwest Express, which later became Midwest airlines, and finally taken over by Frontier airlines.
Midwest express was GREAT! Great service, and all their seats were wide and roomy, with plenty of legroom. When they went to Midwest Airlines, they introduced more “standard seating,” i.e. cramped.
I haven’t flown on Frontier.

I agree.
I think about that every time I board a plane. Am I kidding myself, though, when I think everyone on the flight deck is former Air Force or Navy? I console myself with that belief. God help us if it's no longer the case.
One other thing... It's been my experience that when dealing with union workers, they do NOT see the people who sign their paychecks as their employers. They most often see the union as their employer, and look antagonistically at the company for which they work. So why wouldn't they feel the same way for their customers.
