I am sure it has nothing to do with the hot asian chicks that are stewardesses on those airlines :)
The cute gals don’t hurt, but the service is 10 times better than ours. Malaysia Airlines is top notch.
I thought the same, and your observation is spot on. American carriers have stewardesses that look no better than the cafeteria ladies at my elementary school growing up. But the writer of this article is a woman, so I’m guessing there’s more to the story than the fuggly flight attendants.
I fly a lot and it’s almost all old fat ladies and gay men on American airlines these days.
So sad.
There was a time that going on a flight on a US airline was like going to hooters.
It does. The same attitudes toward the work that make flying domestic airlines so unpleasant are present in the corporate workplace, as well.
A central tenet of feminism is that submitting to requests results in the woman LOSING FACE —the exact opposite of many parts os Asia.

The USA will have to learn to compete in other ways - they will never match the Asian airlines in that regard! Chinese airlines, for example, recruit girls from their sports universities or entertainment groups. For example, gymnasts who are too tall, or won't make it to the Olympics. Once they turn 30 years old, they are fired or moved into back-office jobs.
When you flew the old Northwest out of MSP, you just knew the widest thing coming down the aisle wasn't the beverage cart.
Let me list reasons -
-Arrogant ground staff
-In-plane food just disgusting
-Old planes
-Lacks inside entertainment
-Arrogant in flight staff
-Losing luggage
-Luggage theft
-Flight delay
The story makes a couple of sensible points. The Asian carriers tend to have newer fleets, due to rapid growth driven by the region’s booming economy. And they don’t have the U.S. carriers’ legacy issues. Seems about right to me, and it suggests that quality will tend to rebalance over time.
Personally, I try to avoid any flight on an Airbus and fly Boeing whenever possible. I did get a kick out of Cathay Pacific the first time I flew it; the cabin crew lined up at intervals in the center aisle, and bowed to the customers as they were introduced. This should be written into the labor contracts for U.S. carriers the next time they’re renegotiated.
ping....
When the asian airlines are unionized they will look like ours in 10 years.....maybe without all the fags
A friend is was a 777 pilot for United. He left United and went with KAL. He said the difference is like night and day. United treated its employees the same way it treats its customers: Like cattle.
He said KAL treats its people like royalty.
Explains why the US lines are having problems.

TSA
Unions
Surly service
Crappy food
Feminism, which makes gay men and fat, ugly old women the norm vs. hot chicks
I remember “dating” a few flight attendants back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was in my 20-30’s...
There wasn’t a lot of chit-chat, in fact, I nearly pulled off the mile-high club once...with a sorority girl I met on Spring Break...
Oh, the old days....
