There's always the option of digging a pit; gather a set of old bedsprings and some cinder blocks and some wood; a community could eat quite well off of BBQ "pulled socialists," maybe even sell it back to the socialists as organic free range pork. They'd solve their problems at the same time as the number of regulators dwindle.
