Returned Ballots
A total of 6,741 ballots have been returned in all states and localities for which I have statistics.
MAINE reports 31 returned ballots as of Monday, Sept. 17.
NORTH CAROLINA reports 6,158 returned ballots as of Tuesday morning.
SOUTH DAKOTA reports 552 returned ballots as of Saturday morning.
Scroll down for statistics on the returned ballots!
Keep in mind that a small number of ballots have been cast so far. These earliest of early votes are likely not representative of the overall electorate in many states. Apparently affecting the statistics are overseas voters who were mailed ballots sooner than previous elections in most states. In some states early in-person voting has yet to begin.
Cuyahoga County: 120,134 absentee ballots requested.
Democrats - 65,093
GOP - 29,512.
A 35,581 D advantage, but due to a 3-1 party advantage in the county, Democrat turnout is 18.8% while GOP turnout is 23.4%
Hamilton County - GOP has increased their margin to 7,912, almost a 2-1 advantage over the Demcorats.
In Franklin County, GOP have increased their margin in requests to 5,319.
“Hamilton County - GOP has increased their margin to 7,912, almost a 2-1 advantage over the Demcorats.”
Wow. Obama carried this county by exactly 7%. So even if the GOP might be thought to have a slight advantage in absentee ballots in general, I would think a 2:1 advantage is pretty stunning, wouldn’t you?
Franklin Co., in 2008, was a 21-pt Obama advantage!!. For the GOP to have a 7,000 advantage in absentees at this point, I dunno, seems rather huge?
Hamilton is a key swing county isn’t it.
Nope, just a bunch of voters teed off and wanting to vote now and not wait.
Interesting (and hopeful):
Cayahoga Co. in 2008 went for Obama 68-30.
2012 Absentees show a 54-24 split so far-—Rs down 6, but Ds down 12!
Hamilton is Cincy, but doesnt include the heavy red northern Cincy of Warren county. Its not swing. Its reliably red, but not as Republican as Warren. These numbers are good, and up quite a bit, from 2008 in Hamilton.
It's those unaffiliated voters I'm most concerned about.
Overall, there have been 734,000 absentee ballots requested state-wide.
Two years agao, Cuyahoga and Franklin counties accounted for more than half of the early vote.
So far, this year, only 32%.

Make that O is down 14 in Cayahoga County so far from the 2008 pace, or -8 against the GOP in absentee ballots off the 08 pace.
I’ve also noticed that Newsmax has become very pro Obama
Question—Do you register to vote by party in OH, because I filled out an on-line registration form for my SIL who just moved to OH, and it didn’t ask for a party. Thanks.
You know, I’ve been registered for so long, I don’t know. I thought you had to state a party-—but maybe that’s only to vote in a primary.
