The leadership of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City have launched an online petition campaign for President Obama to back a bill to limit the free speech of American citizens they deem offensive.
The petition states:
The undersigned Board Of Directors and members of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City (ISGKC) urges you to sponsor a bill that outlaws any action that may insult ones religion. We utterly disagree with the violence that has taken place and the death of United States Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and other members of the United States embassy staff in Libya. We support the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for such acts.
We understand the First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights and, as such, prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, etc., but when the allowance of free speech incites violence it should be banned.

President Obama would never back a bill that restricted free speech. An executive order, yes, but a bill...
Yup.
Well said.
On a side note, I hope this gets lots of publicity. Americans need to see how incompatible this world view is with the ideals upon which our nation was founded.
“Leaders of Kansas City Muslim group petition Obama to limit free speech of American citizens”
The real problem is that we know darn well that Obama would like to do exactly that - at least when it involves anything offensive to muslims.
How would anyone know which speech does or doesn't incite violence until the violence actually occurs?
Dont like it? Then get the hel* out of my country.
Hey mooselimb turds, go piss up a rope and take your gutter “religion” and shove it.
Thread winner!
