I really think it's more than that. He gets his ideology from that early communist education but his anti-Colonialist savior-of-the-world fantasies are rooted in a deep seated mental disorder. His delusions are light years beyond those of any ordinary Progressive. For 0bama it's not about the world being saved by socialism it's about
him saving the world with
his vision of it.
I'm surer than I have ever been that his respect for Marxist philosophy is way below his reverence for his own brilliant mind and shining personality.
