Accompanied by his parents and wife, former FBI agent John Shipley, convicted of illegal gun dealing, was transported to a halfway house facility in El Paso, Texas, earlier this month to complete the remainder of his sentenced incarceration, a source close to the case told Gun Rights Examiner this weekend.
There are a lot of different offenders including gang members and sex offenders, the source revealed.
John was able to see a counselor to have the rules explained and to be evaluated, the source reported. He has to attend certain classes and the instructors are amazed that he knows the answers.
The government has labeled him as a violent criminal because he had a gun charge, the source revealed. This is ridiculous, and for that reason they are going to keep him until December 24th.

PROBABLE Gunwalker ties.
After conducting a controlled delivery of the Barrett...the ATF allowed Lopez to traffic the firearm into Mexico, the source observed, noting this is the same gun walking technique that the ATF used in operations Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious.
The ATF's assistance in trafficking the Barrett to Mexico was discovered because it was recovered at a shoot out and the Government of Mexico asked ATF to assist them in determining how the gun got to Mexico, the source revealed. ATF now had a problem. [They] couldn't tell Mexico that they allowed the gun to walk and were directly responsible for the gun being trafficked to Mexico.
[I]n FBI Agent Shipley's case, they didn't just lie to the American public, they lied under oath to a federal judge to obtain a search warrant for a FBI agent's house, the source continued. They knew Shipley wasn't involved, but they had to cover their own culpability. The ATF and the [Assistant U.S. Attorney] of El Paso convicted an innocent man to cover their own illegal activities.
Wow, wonder if a new administration could ever clean house enough in Justice and the ATF to get rid of the bad eggs.
Count 6Making a false statement to a federal agent. An ATF agent called John and said he was investigating a firearm they found going into Mexico and that it was last legally traced to John. John had informed him that he had sold the weapon legally in a face-to-face sale in Texas (to a qualified purchaser). He gave him information on the person who bought the weapon. The ATF agent said that they were doing a local investigation about guns going into Mexico and John agreed to help as much as possible. The agent said he wanted to meet John at a certain time to get the information. Since John only had a printer on his computer, John wrote by hand the information about guns he had sold locally. He did not include information about guns shipped and sold through a FFL to other localities nor did he include his Grandfathers guns. At the trial the ATF agent then claimed that he had asked for Johns complete and original records and that John gave him a fake book. If the ATF agent had asked for all of Johns records, John would have told him that he used to keep his records on his computer and lost a lot of them when his computer crashed. John subsequently asked a local firearms dealer how they kept their records and the dealer advised John to buy a dealers firearms record book. In an attempt to keep personal records on his firearms, John recorded information in this book. The ATF agent admitted in his testimony that a private citizen does not have to keep records and they do not have to be accurate. When the agents were questioned in court, they stated that they did not make written notes from the meeting and John was not under investigation at the time.
