Reince Priebus expressed optimism this morning that Republicans could win the senate in 2012, but warned that the party would not get behind Todd Akin, even if he refused to exit the race.
Were not going to play in Missouri with Todd Akin, I can tell you that, Priebus said on ABCs This Week, adding that it remained to be seen whether he stays in or not. The last day Akin can legally leave the race is Tuesday.

Akin voted against TARP, Obamacare, No child left behind, the prescription drug program, McCain-Feingold, and other socialist agenda items.
I didn’t trade anything for this Tard.
You implied Steele was responsible for 2010. Nothing selective about “The real test of any of these RNC Chaircritters is whether or not the party wins in a major election that takes place during their time in office.
Mike Steele was RNC chair when the Republicans won the greatest electoral victory they’d had in 70 years.”
You gave him credit with that statement. Perhaps it was inartful.
I didn’t know the guy before the convention. I don’t support GOP and haven’t since 41.
I wrote to Gillespie, Gillmore and Steele. The 1st I told them get their act together and I was not going to support RNC until they did.
What did they do? Send my piles of letters asking for more donations and kept on drinking their cheap liquor and laughing at us for the rubes they believe we are.
We had hopes in them and when that guy from CNBC threw his Tea tantrum, that was the day the Tea Party was birthed.
I could write a letter to Preibus but it’s an excersise in futility.
I didn’t ask for this punk to punk us. Someone else waived their hand and he suddenly appeared.
Irrelevant. And exactly how do you know what he truly meant?
Rape is terrible. Murder is worse. I have nothing but contempt for murderers - filthy reptiles that they are.
Good to see Akin has more allies today than he did after the infamous, nonsensical remark.

How would the runner up be chosen?
The number of votes received?
Looks like we can’t win for losing. I give up. I’m going to crawl in a hole and pull it in after me.
After all, Akin has not made a major campaign on the issue of whatever it was he really said, but Romney has participated in crafting legislation that can and does kill real babies!
He doesn't even agree with the Republican platform on the issue.
“hater”
Juvenile, meaningless language of the left. Step it up, Einstein.
Akin has led a good and virtuous life. He has raised a fine family--six children including three sons who went to the Naval Academy and served in the US Marines, one in Falluja.
Todd Akin graduated from the John Burroughs School, a private prep school in suburban St. Louis, and went on to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, earning a B.S. degree in engineering in 1971.
Following his college graduation, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army with the Army Combat Engineers, then served in the Army Reserve until 1980. After his discharge from active duty, Akin worked as a salesman for IBM marketing large computer systems, and later went to work in management in the family steel business.
He earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1984 from Covenant Theological Seminary where he studied Greek, Hebrew and a socially conservative interpretation of the Christian scriptures. Instead of working in a church, he decided to make public service his ministry
