The Congressional Black Caucus was formed in 1971 to advocate on behalf of black Americans and hold lawmakers and the President of the United States accountable for policies adversely impacting blacks. The CBC is often referred to as the conscience of the Congress.
Considering the caucus history, its shocking CBC Chairman Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver admitted to the Root the CBC has been reluctant to criticize President Obama because hes black. Never mind black unemployment under Obama for the past three years has been nearly double the national average and hit a record high of 16% in 2011. Black unemployment hasnt been that high since 1984. I guess Cleaver also isnt concerned black wealth has also plummeted under Obama. According to Pew Research Center, the average black familys wealth is about $5,600 compared with $113,000 for whites.
According to Cleaver, pride about the presidents blackness trumps any concerns over current 14% black unemployment for members of the CBC. Cleaver said if we had a white president we'd be marching around the White House.
As the CBC celebrates their annual Legislative Conference this week in DC, its more than insulting that Rep. Cleaver can chuckle about the CBC giving Obama a pass on accountability for his failed agenda with blacks and all Americans. Cleavers glib reaction is particularly disturbing when you consider in 1970 the Democratic Select Committee, which later became the CBC, was outraged by President Richard Nixons refusal to meet with them. Nixons snub appeared to be the impetus for groups name change a year later.
In 1971, the CBC boycotted Nixons State of the Union because he refused to meet with them and sent him a list of 60 policy recommendations, the link to which has been conspicuously removed from the CBC website. At least a year ago or two ago it was there. Perhaps Cleaver removed it because he didnt want people asking why the CBC isnt treating Obama with the same outrage.
After all, Obama refused to meet with the CBC until a full year in office even though 95% of blacks voted for him in 2008. That doesnt seem to be the appropriate way to thank your most loyal voting bloc. Adding insult to injury, Obama spoke at last years CBCs annual legislative conference and told blacks they were lazy and needed to look for jobs.
"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. "Shake it off. Stop complainin'. Stop grumblin'. Stop cryin.
Cleaver joked with the Root when asked what he would do if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency in 2008 and the jobless numbers for blacks were this bad. As much as I love Sen. Clinton I would have been all over her on 14 percent unemployment for African Americans. I would have said, "My sister, I love you, but this has got to go."
Apparently being Americas first black president has its benefits. It means the raging high unemployment and diminished wealth for blacks under Obamas presidency ain't nothing but a thing to members of the CBC. The conscience of the Congress seems to have lost its way and sold his soul down the river in the name of giving deference to a brother named Barack Obama.
“Cleaver and Maxine Waters: Role models for Black power gone sour”
And let’s not forget that “rocket scientist,” Hank Johnson, the black pinhead congressman who is worried about Guam capsizing! Skin color and stupidity, the hallmarks of the CBC!

OJ Simpson agrees,it’s all about the color that makes a brotherhood.
Voting based on skin color is racist.
Maher’s comments are about what I would expect from such an idiot. The truth is that I don’t know of a single instance of a nation governed by black people that has been a great success story. The same seems to be true of any city in this country that is managed by black mayors etc. If I am wrong then would someone please enlighten me but it looks to me as if the surest route to disaster is to place black people in charge of government.
I don’t know of one thing that Thomas Sowell has ever written with which I disagree and I think he is a shining example of what is so rare now and that is true wisdom but people like Mr. Sowell never seem to run for office, instead we get clowns like Obama. Allen West is an exception but I don’t expect to ever see Mr. West as a candidate for president, clowns like Maher will move heaven and Earth to keep someone like Allen West from rising higher.
I think their CONSCIENCE left... in 1972.
They refused membership to a white congressman whose constituency was black.

That schmuck Obama isn’t Arab at all. He’s half Luo.
I agree with everything you said, except for Obama’s old man being 87.5% Arab. He’s all Luo, and they’re a black African ethnic group. Here is a article with a couple of pics of the guy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama,_Sr.
Does he look even the slightest bit Arab?
His "black" ancestors were part Semitic before the Arabs arrived to start trading in slaves and ivory. If the Kenyan babydaddy were "half Arab and half African", then he'd be "about" a quarter to a half actual black African.
That makes Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro either "octoroon" (one eighth) or "quadroon" (one quarter African) ...... and I bet he'd shake out that way on a DNA test, ie. about 75-85% Caucasian DNA (both Semitic and European) and the balance true black African.
Why, yes -- Hitler had a whole government department devoted to spinning out ancestral racial fairy tales for the bemusement of his people, the division of the SS called the SS-Ahnenerben. They'd be fascinated by Barack Obama, his, um, personal history, and so on. They'd be mesmerized by his rise to power in Chicago and America. In fact, they'd be so dazzled by his unique anthropological significance, they'd schedule for him a very special examination by Dr. Mengele.
So what is this guy? Where'd the Arab/Islamic roots come from, the clothing, and all of that?
ping
And this is OK why? Is race an issue or not? Do whites have race specific advocates? Are whites colorblind or just blind?
