Re: “David Harris”

That is a huge omission, or mistake.

Jonathan Tobin, the author, is one of the top writers at “Commentary.”

Commentary is a center-left Jewish Magazine that passionately supports Israel and works actively to defeat Obama.

There are some, certainly not the majority, of
“Jews” who like to refer to themselves as “Jews” as if it means “anti-Christian”....that’s the only aspect of “Jewishness” they have.

Again, that has nothing to do with the majority of Jews, but this small segment likes to claim to speak for all Jews.

In nature, stupidity doesn’t tend to survive very long, so it only seems reasonable that they would realize this and not do it, otherwise...

Politically people will do some really dumb things for a really long time. Let's take a city like Detroit. Those black people up there have been voting Democrat for several generations. The city is in shambles and they are going to keep right on voting Democrat. If the state of Michigan didn't step in things would even be worse - and yet those people would STILL vote Democrat. There is absolutely nothing that would make them vote for a Republican. For them, the GOP is the enemy and voting Democrat is a hill worth dying on even if it means their destruction.

Any number of urban areas have been in the same boat. And now, whole states are. Think anything is going to get Californians to vote for an actual conservative? LOL. Not a chance.

Point is, sometimes people simply don't ever learn from their mistakes. They go down the crapper making the same ones over and over. It seems to me that Western Jews are going to keep voting for secular socialists (in Europe and the US) for many, many generations to come. Much like the blacks, it is simply not a voting demographic we can hold out much hope for.

They love their big government.

Is it just "big government"?

Or is it abortion?

I've never met a Jewish lady who wasn't adamant about the issue. Never for herself, of course, but always "for her daughter."

Big government is what they love, freedom scares them, abortion is a very modern issue that had no effect on the Jewish vote.

How about 17 million more on food stamps during last 3 years and 9 months? Majority of those might want Obama re-elected.

How about the millions more getting permanent disability checks who have given up looking for jobs and managed to become eligible for disability?

How about the 99'ers who will receive unemployment checks for 99 weeks? They might want Obama re-elected because they are scared? There are something like 27 million in that category.

Bingo. America is a far more dependent nation now than it was in 2008. We are much more like Europe, and once Obamacare fully kicks in it will increase further the number of Americans that touch government for benefits regularly. Once hooked on benefits, people tend to accept the increased government role in their lives. It is the system they live in and they begin to not be able to imagine any alternative.

Yes, Obama most certainly has large dependent demographics that probably support him more now than they did in 2008. We are at a point of no return here. Personally, I think we've probably already crossed it and I am moving forward under that assumption. Romney still has a chance, but he is running out of time to change the trajectory of this election.

Jewish voters constitute 4% of Florida's total vote.

I saw an estimate by a political scientist indicating that the figure was more like 6-8% due to the very high voting participation rate among Jews as compared to the general Florida population.

So if he got 78% in 2008 he will get 68% in 2012.

FYI, even the most partisan of Jewish 'Rats are now revising that widely cited 78% in 2008 number down to 74%. Maybe they're doing that to minimize his slip this year, which many say will be between 15 to 20 percentage points.

I agree with you, his support will definitely be less, and a 10 point drop is a good guess.

Can anyone name a demographic that has increased support for President Obama?

And does anyone know a single person who voted for McCain who is now voting for Obama?

“Gore got 88%, Kerry 80%, Kenya 75% and now 69% of the Jewish vote is supposed to be bad news for Romney?”

Would someone please explain to me how any Jewish person can support an administration that is so islamic-extremist friendly and has completely and utterly thrown Bibi and Israel under the bus?

I asked a Jewish friend why they always vote Dems and especially why Obama.

He said many of his tribe have roots going back to the Russian revolution and thus have been indoctrinated by the parents and grandparents about the greatness of collectivism.

He also said that they like a strong central government that they have a voice in, because that then presumably protects them from oppression. Said they wouldn’t have that voice in the GOP as the “Christians” run that party.

Re: “Western Jews are going to keep voting for secular socialists”

I noticed a dual irony in the recent French election.

Muslims voted 95% for the secular Socialist candidate.

I searched but could not find out how strong his Jewish support was.

I think a reasonable guess would be 75%.

So, devout Muslims voted overwhelmingly for someone who endorses sexual liberty and abortion-on-demand.

And French Jews, who are beaten or murdered several times a month by French Muslims, overwhelmingly support the candidate endorsed by the Muslims.

You may be right.

I saw that 4% number earlier in the week.

I assumed it meant voter participation, but it may have meant 4% of total population.

The really sad thing is that these largely ignorant French Muslims will strategically vote against many/most of the very things they believe in and pull the lever for the secular socialists knowing (and fully intending) to undermine the host nation. Meanwhile the mostly educated French Jews dutifully march off to the polls and vote for the same secular socialists under the impression they are somehow doing a good thing for the nation. We may rightly think them utterly backward, but the Western Muslims vote for secular socialists knowing it will weaken the host nations they've generally come to despise. The Jews seem to be unintentionally accomplishing the same thing. Seems to me the Muslims are smarter on this one front.

“Why is Obama campaigning in IL?

I’m getting a sneaking suspicion (coupled with wishful thinking) that Obama already knows he will lose the election by a landslide, and just doesn’t want to lose his home state.”

For discussion sake, I will assume your conclusion, that 0bama et al see/think they get smoked by a landslide.

My simple opinion is that, win lose or draw, 0bama is raising funds at the fastest pace he possibly can. He will park those funds with his various cronies and get a ton of it back in “rebates” sent to his Hawaii digs after he vacates 1600 Pennsy Ave. Or...he might win. He is apparently immune from any degree of screwup, the Mideast can ignite in flames and the big deal is what Romney claimed on line 46 of his tax return. We already knew that, but it’s bound to get even worse.

As to the special case of IL, we know that even Al Gore could not win his home state. I believe 0bama goes where he can raise the most money. So far, what I have seen from 0bama et al is that, no matter how smart the universe says it thinks he is, he just isn’t. They are not very sophisticated, but they rarely if ever miss an opportunity to throw the 3rd grade playground dirtbomb. I cannot tell you if the American people will at some point get tired of the name calling in light of the grinding deterioration of almost everything.

Pure, nonpartisan electoral math says Romney has a very tough row to hoe to gather the necessary elec votes. There is no philosophical argument that can transcend that point, at least in my shallow and superficial little mind. Yes, he can win. But he’s going to have to run the table.

Obama got 78% of the Jewish vote in 2008.

Obama got 89% of the Muslim vote in 2008.

America’s secular Jews—and that is most of them—care more about promoting societal degradation—same sex marriage, subsidized abortion, driving God from the public square—than anything else, including Israel. Why is complicated. But there it is.
