In the scenario I proposed (shutting down DNS services), commerce might be able to continue as many companies probably directly use Internet Protocol (IP) addresses which would probably still work in a DNS shutdown. But the average consumer who types in www.whateversite.com would not get through, and email would probably be disrupted.

If bambi can shut down the net for us common folk - so be it. If he believes that will stop free speech , well, he can believe as he wants.
