Egypt's top Muslim cleric on Saturday called for an international ban on all forms of attacks against Islam, after a controversial film allegedly triggered the recent wave of violent protests that have erupted in the Middle East and North Africa.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb, grand imam of Cairo's Al-Azhar, the highest seat of Sunni Muslim learning, stressed "the need for an international resolution (banning) any attack on Muslim religious symbols," in a statement addressed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and published by official MENA news agency.

The resolution should "criminalize attacks on Islamic symbols and on those of other religions, after the violence against those who provoked challenges to world peace and international security," Tayyeb said.

Fortunately here in the US, we have this little thing called the 1st Amendment. The US government cannot pass laws that support any religion. And the US government cannot pass any laws restricting free speech. Of course, that wont stop Obama and the MSM retards, from trying to do just that. As others have noted, through executive orders.

I remember when I was 14, walking down the hall of Norton Union at the University of Buffalo campus, somebody shouted behind me “Hey, Jooo!” and shook a yarmulke suggestively in front of his genitalia at me. I simply turned my back to him, kept my head up and kept on walking. But now, if we folly (sic) Sheiky-weeky’s advice, I can call the UN on hooligans like him for desecrating a religious symbol. I wonder how state, local and federal police all over the world will like this new role for the UN. I wonder how they can even fill it?

An Islamic state...Copts worried...
http://www.egyptindependent.com/news/al-azhar-salafi-leaders-reach-agreement-sharia

Not only are copts worried but shiite and regular sunni - we’re talking the Muslim Brotherhood - Salafi/Wahabbi who have salafi terrorists in the field....not suspecting them any of them are linked or anything like that.../s

I also like the Kurds today but they were out front during the Armenian Genocide as they were promised their own land etc., that promise was never to happen. The Turks today deny it but the Kurds have admitted and apologized...big difference in the basic character.

Islam always has been and always will be an empire, it is pre-fudal. There is no partitioning, it is just the normal shifting of power witin Islamic feudal lords.

From Wiki - certainly “NUTS” was in the official reply to the Germans. But contemporaneous accounts seem to say that yes he did say that and no he did not tend to use a lot of profanity. But I think what is indisputable is that that’s what went into the official reply.

On December 22, 1944, through a party consisting of a major, a lieutenant, and two enlisted men under a flag of truce that entered the American lines southeast of Bastogne (occupied by Company F, 2nd Battalion, 327th Glider Infantry), General von Lüttwitz sent the following ultimatum to Gen. McAuliffe:

To the U.S.A. Commander of the encircled town of Bastogne.

The fortune of war is changing. This time the U.S.A. forces in and near Bastogne have been encircled by strong German armored units. More German armored units have crossed the river Our near Ortheuville, have taken Marche and reached St. Hubert by passing through Hompre-Sibret-Tillet. Libramont is in German hands.

There is only one possibility to save the encircled U.S.A. troops from total annihilation: that is the honorable surrender of the encircled town. In order to think it over a term of two hours will be granted beginning with the presentation of this note.
If this proposal should be rejected one German Artillery Corps and six heavy A. A. Battalions are ready to annihilate the U.S.A. troops in and near Bastogne. The order for firing will be given immediately after this two hours term.

All the serious civilian losses caused by this artillery fire would not correspond with the well-known American humanity.

The German Commander.

According to various accounts from those present, when McAuliffe was told of the German demand for surrender he said “nuts”. At a loss for an official reply, Lt. Col. Harry Kinnard suggested that his first remark summed up the situation well, which was agreed to by the others. The official reply was typed and delivered by Colonel Joseph Harper, commanding the 327th Glider Infantry, to the German delegation. It was as follows:
To the German Commander.

NUTS!

The American Commander
Suffice it to say, the Germans were perplexed at the short reply. Harper offered an explanation of the meaning of the word to the Germans, telling them that in “plain English” it meant “Go to hell.”[3] The word choice came directly from McAuliffe and was typical for him. Vincent Vicari, his personal aide at the time, recalled that “General Mac was the only general I ever knew who did not use profane language. ‘Nuts’ was part of his normal vocabulary.”[4]

The threat of artillery fire did not materialize, although several infantry and tank assaults were directed at the positions of the 327th Glider Infantry. In addition, the German Luftwaffe entered the attacks on the town, bombing it nightly. The 101st was able to hold off the Germans until the 4th Armored Division arrived on December 26 to provide reinforcement.

“kept my head up” Good for you.

But, I don’t think we can count on the UN to help any of us.

Neither Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb nor Ban Ki-moon have any influence or authority beyond the cesspools in which they live.

They can just kiss my ascot.

How this lunatic culture can attract worldwide attention no matter how asinine and irrelevant the individual insignificant members are... I will never understand.
