I’d like to see a flat tax on every dollar above minimum wage.
Easy. Simple.

So would I. We have to get away from a society where half the people don’t pay any tax and the tax burden is shifted almost entirely to the “rich”. If Kaine is saying every single person must pay at least XX% of their income in tax no matter what their income level, I’m all for it.

I think the 14th amendment says the government must treat us all the same and the entire progressive tax structure is unConstitutional.
They should not be able to take 10 from me and nothing from someone else.
They should not be giving free food, medical, housing, education to one citizen and not to another.

Is Kaine saying we should make the “no tax” crowd pay some tax?

I totally agree.
That is why I oppose all forms of subsidies and price controls.

I get what he was saying, and he was trying to sound moderate, i.e. making some of the 47% pay something.
But this is going to kill him. LOL!

Me, too. Everyone who votes for politicians who spend our money need to have some “skin in the game’, to use the Kenyan Buffoon’s phrase.

He’s probably really thinking about extending the AMT down into the rest of the middle class.

I don’t believe Kaine. His big left eyebrow, probably raised 3 inches when he said this. That is known as a “Tell” to serious poker players. The “Tell” lets us know that the person just lied and is bluffing!

Romney Locks Up 53% of the Vote (We are the 53%)
Pajamas Media ^ | 09/20/2012

Mitt Romney recently said that 47% of the population pay no taxes while still receiving government benefits. This likely alienated the 47%, who Romney rightly noted are mostly voting for Obama. But it thrilled the 53% who do pay taxes. Because that 53% are sick and tired of moochers calling the shots.

Never EVER is the idea of cutting spending EVER considered as part of the equation.
It's always "how can we increase spending and yet make everyone happy at the same time".

Hes probably really thinking about extending the AMT down into the rest of the middle class. I'd be fine with that too. Anything that spreads out the tax pain will result in the middle class not voting itself more middle class benefits.

I hope Romney is ready for a question like this. It is essentially tailored for Romney’s 47% remark.

Virginians heard liberal Tim Kaine loud and clear today his solution to 43 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent is to raise taxes on everyone, regardless of their income levels or economic struggles. Remarkable, commented Brian Walsh, National Republican Senatorial Committee Communications Director.
