I cant see any correlation...can you?
It’s a pointless exercise to be looking at “proximate causes” for violence in that part of the world where people nurse grievances as an excuse for their societal failures. This was no “shake ‘n bake” protest that got out of hand. This was a military assault with a carefully laid ambush set for the relief force. There is evidence that the attackers had been collecting intelligence on the locations of US “safe-houses” one of which was hit by mortar fire.
I can only conclude that the so-called movie was a convenient excuse. If it hadn’t been that it would have been something else.
